America's Got Talent: Extreme With Nikki Bella Stops Taping After Stunt Goes Horribly Wrong

A stunt gone wrong has resulted in production of the new "America's Got Talent -- Extreme" reality show competition being halted.

The show features WWE Hall of Fame legend Nikki Bella serving as one of the judges, and is an America's Got Talent spinoff series produced by Simon Cowell and Travis Pastrana.

An article at Deadline is reporting that stuntman Jonathan Goodwin was airlifted to a hospital and is in a trauma unit after he was crushed between two cars during a stunt gone wrong on one of the episodes.

A spokeswoman for the show told Deadline the following:

“During a rehearsal last evening for America’s Got Talent: Extreme, an accident occurred in which escape artist Jonathan Goodwin was injured while performing his act. He was responsive and was immediately taken to the hospital, where he is continuing to receive medical care. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family as we await further updates on his condition.”

As a result of the accident, taping for the show, which is set to premiere on NBC at some point in the midseason, has been paused while Cal/OSHA looks into the situation.
