Andrade Gets Permission From WWE To Wrestle At Indie Event; Captures WWC Title

Former WWE star Andrade has captured the WWC Universal Championship title. He defeated Xavant at WWC Lockout on Saturday night at the Cancha Pepín Cestero in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.

The match and the win come on the heels of Andrade announcing earlier yesterday that WWE gave him permission to compete at the event, noting that an agreement was reached between the company and his lawyers.

Andrade did not stress that the agreement only pertained to the Saturday WWC event and does not allow him to wrestle elsewhere, however, he had hoped to return to AEW soon.

"I want to say thank you to my lawyer because my lawyer now has a letter from WWE. Because we had some little problems because I have the no-compete for 12 months."

"Today my lawyer texted me and told me that Andrade, I have a letter signed that you can participate tonight in Puerto Rico in the company WWC."

"I hope back soon to AEW. I don’t know when I’m back. For now, the letter is for just this show for Puerto Rico."
