Will the real NXT Cruiserweight Champion please stand up??
During this week's edition of WWE NXT On USA Network, the long-awaited meeting between the two NXT Cruiserweight Champions finally took place following the Legado del Fantasma vs. Breezango match that ended with Mendoza getting the cover on Tyler Breeze.
Though the match was over, Santos Escobar of Legado del Fantasma wasn't nearly done with his time in the ring. Following the match, Escobar called out Jordan Devlin who complied with the request, making his way to the stage carrying his NXT Cruiserweight Championship Title belt. Devlin stated that after a year... the real Champion was finally back in NXT.

Devlin told Escobar to "watch and see what a real champion looks like", warning him that The Ace is back in town and that Escobar can put his “little replica title” in the trash can because the guy he was filling in for is back.
Escobar responded and said he has re-defined what it means to be a cruiserweight, and that Devlin is just history now.
Not long after that statement, a match was made official for NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver 2021. Escobar and Devlin stood face to face inside the ring as they stared one another down, until suddenly Devlin delivered a headbutt that rocked Escobar, ultimately landing him on his head inside the ring. At that point, Devlin retreated to the ramp with his title while Escobar bled from his mouth in the ring.
