AEW held its Revolution pay-per-view this past Sunday in Los Angeles, then followed it up with an episode of Dynamite in Sacramento.
Fightful Select has released a new report revealing several backstage tidbits following the two shows, which includes some injury updates an additional tidbits.
-Kyle Fletcher was heavily scratched up following his loss to Will Ospreay inside a steel cage, but his injuries were not considered severe. His partner, Mark Davis, wasn't as fortunate. Davis required staples to close a wound sustained during his run-in. Ospreay left the event limping, though he, too, was said to be okay after the fact.
-MJF was also banged up, though he was reported to be okay despite the toll his match with Adam Page took on him.
-One of the more concerning injuries came from Swerve Strickland, who ended up suffering a busted eardrum during his bout with Ricochet. This injury caused some adjustments to the plans for AEW Dynamite, with the company having to alter certain storylines and segments due to Strickland's condition.
-On AEW Dynamite, Vinny Pacifico made his in-ring debut, facing off against The Opps. Beyond his in-ring performance, Pacifico also made waves by appearing on a Times Square billboard, marking his second time being featured on such a prominent display this week. However, Pacifico’s night took a brutal turn when he had a piece of his tooth knocked out by Shibata during the match.
-AEW Dynamite's format came together later than usual this week due to several changes stemming from the aftermath of Revolution. Fightful reports that the show's production team worked diligently to make sure everything was in place for a smooth broadcast despite the last-minute modifications.
-Mike Bailey also made his AEW debut on Dynamite. It was revealed that there had been several pitches for Bailey's debut within the company, with plans to bring him in over the past few months. Bailey had been working diligently to secure his visa, which had delayed his official arrival. However, backstage, Bailey was warmly welcomed, having previously visited AEW last year.
