Apparently there was supposed to be a second Cody Rhodes segment on the March 7th WWE SmackDown.
This past Friday's edition of the blue-brand featured Cody Rhodes delivered a heartfelt promo about John Cena's betrayal of him at WWE Elimination Chamber. According Fightful Select, internal SmackDown run sheets slated Cody having a backstage interaction with R-Truth. However, this segment never aired.
The report notes that they were never told why it was scrapped, but that backstage speculation suggested that the segment might have undermined the emotional weight of Rhodes' earlier promo. The previous week, Rhodes and R-Truth had a well-received backstage moment that built on R-Truth’s admiration for Cena.
