According to Mark O’Brien from Bodyslam.net, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) created two different sets of tag team titles in the past year, but both sets are currently sitting on the shelf. Sources within the company have indicated that AEW developed "Inter-Generational Tag Team Championships," intended for father and son pairs. This initiative has led to an increased on-screen focus on Christian Cage and Nick Wayne, as well as Billy Gunn's involvement with The Acclaimed and Anthony Bowens.
The report also mentions plans for real-life father and son teams, including Ricky and Kerry Morton, and Kerry Von Erich teaming up with one of his sons. There was even a plan to reunite the Jurassic Express team, though its connection to the current situation is unclear. Regarding Cage and Wayne, the original plan for the duo involved them teaming up against the Hurt Syndicate, only for one to turn on the other during a title match, which was part of a larger storyline.
Additionally, AEW has created Women's Tag Team titles. However, both sets of titles have been in existence for about a year without being utilized.
