Backstage News On Bandido Dealing With His Visa Issues

Reigning ROH World Champion Bandido has not competed in either AEW or ROH TV since the Revolution pay-per-view two weeks ago, where he lost a non-title match to Andrade El Idolo, a member of Don Callis Family.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bandido is currently addressing his visa issues. The report does not specify whether these visa problems will impact his ability to work in AEW or how long it might take for him to resolve them, but updates will be provided as they become available.

ESPN reports that the Trump Administration announced in January that certain competitions described as “major sporting events” would be allowed to travel to the U.S. despite a broad visa ban affecting nearly 40 countries. The leagues included in this announcement are the NBA, NFL, WNBA, Major League Baseball, NASCAR, WWE, UFC, and AEW.

However, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that this exemption may not apply to Mexico, leaving uncertainty as to whether Bandido will be able to perform at AEW events in the U.S. So far, he has not participated since Revolution.

Due to these visa issues, Bandido has been forced to withdraw from some independent appearances, though he is still permitted to perform in Canada, as the country allows entertainers and athletes from foreign nations to work. AEW is scheduled for a tour of Canada through mid-April, which includes AEW Dynamite and Collision next week in Winnipeg, followed by Dynamite and Collision in Edmonton, Alberta, on April 8th, and AEW Dynasty in Vancouver, British Columbia, on April 12th. AEW's next taping in the U.S. is scheduled for April 15th with Dynamite and the Collision taping in Everett, Washington.
