Backstage News On Current Locker Room Morale In WWE

In the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp addressed a fan question regarding the current morale in the WWE locker room, particularly in light of recent talent releases, pay cuts, and various PR challenges the company has faced.

Sapp indicated that morale backstage in WWE is "definitely worse than it used to be." However, he emphasized that although morale has declined, it is still not as low as during the critical periods surrounding the Royal Rumble in 2022 and WWE's creative struggles in late 2019, when the locker room atmosphere was described as "a different kind of fed up." He also mentioned that morale can fluctuate daily, and individual opinions do not represent the entire locker room, as the WWE roster is diverse.

As previously reported, WWE released over two dozen wrestlers last month, including Kairi Sane, the Wyatt Family members, Aleister Black, and Zelina Vega. Additionally, members of The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) requested their releases after WWE proposed pay cuts and changes to their contracts, which they had signed the previous year.

Ultimately, Kingston and Woods mutually agreed to part ways with their long-time wrestling home. JC Mateo and Tonga Loa were also reported to have been released later.
