Backstage News On Future Locations Of WWE's WrestleMania Events

-- After weeks of uncertainty, WWE recently announced Las Vegas as the location of next year's WrestleMania 41 despite previous reports pegging Minneapolis as the front-runner. PWInsider.com is reporting that things completely changed once Endeavor purchased WWE and that prior to the transaction, the company was looking at New Orleans and Orlando along with Vegas as possible destinations for future events.

-- At some point, Minneapolis "stepped in" and made a major bid which shot them to the front of the list (to the point where the city itself made indirect public comments hinting that they landed the event) but once Endeavor took over WWE, ownership pivoted to Las Vegas as they felt it was a more prestigious market and had strong ties with UFC, which of course is under the TKO umbrella with WWE. With the sweeping changes at the top of WWE, the report adds that neither Orlando nor New Orleans are locks moving forward as the primary consideration for future WrestleMania sites will be how much money WWE can get for rights fees from the various levels of governments associated with each bid.

-- With that said, suddenly an international WrestleMania is entirely possible and London has been in the news as possibly submitting a bid. If that market presents an attractive financial offer, it is believed that WWE will be "extremely receptive" to bringing WrestleMania there as the goal again is to maximize profits. Any old traditions of keeping WrestleMania exclusively in North America are out the window.
