Backstage News On Hiromu Takahashi’s WWE Status And Possible In-Ring Name

Hiromu Takahashi's future in professional wrestling has been a topic of discussion among fans ever since reports emerged that he left New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) this past February. Recently, former IWGP Heavyweight Champion EVIL made an appearance on WWE NXT, leading some to speculate whether Takahashi might take a similar path.

According to BodySlam+, those working at the WWE Performance Center expect Takahashi to eventually join the company. Interestingly, ahead of last Tuesday’s NXT event, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that EVIL, who addressed fans through a vignette and revealed his new in-ring name, Naraku, was originally supposed to be named “Nox Raijin” in WWE before plans changed. The company filed an application to trademark the name “Nox Raijin” late last month.

The report also mentioned that sources indicate Takahashi might adopt the name “Nox Raijin” if he joins WWE.

Takahashi wrestled his last match for NJPW at The New Beginning in Osaka on February 11th, where he teamed up with Taiji Ishimori to defeat Francesco Akira and Jakob Austin Young of the United Empire. Takahashi is a five-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and a one-time IWGP Tag Team Champion.
