As previously reported, WWE Women's World Champion Naomi was pulled from her title match against IYO SKY on Monday's RAW due to not being medically cleared.
According to PWInsider.com, Naomi's absence prompted WWE to revise its plans, not only for the show but also in relation to a long-term creative strategy for Asuka. The report noted that Asuka walking out on her former Damage CTRL stablemate during their confrontation, after Roxanne Perez defeated SKY, was an acceleration of those plans. Initially, there were intentions for Asuka to turn on SKY, but this storyline was designed for a gradual buildup, with a falling out expected to occur later. However, the decision was made to expedite this moment and feature it on this week's show due to the changes in circumstances.
Additionally, it was mentioned that SKY's match with Perez was a last-minute adjustment. There had been discussions about Perez and Raquel Rodriguez teaming up to face SKY and Rhea Ripley, but the plans had to be altered. There is still no information on whether Asuka's turn would have occurred within the context of the tag match that was originally considered.
