Backstage News On How WWE Is Planning To Keep Royal Rumble Surprises Under Wraps

WWE is scheduled to host the 2026 Royal Rumble premium live event (PLE) on Saturday, January 31, at an outdoor stadium in the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This event is part of Riyadh Season, and fans can expect surprise entrants in both the Men's and Women's Royal Rumble Matches, as is traditional.

International events like this one often lead to leaks of information. However, Fightful Select reports that WWE has implemented plans to maintain secrecy and keep surprises under wraps. According to the report, WWE’s charter plane for talent is set to depart after the latest episode of RAW. This aligns with a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, which stated that talent will be leaving on Tuesday morning for Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, the report mentions plans to bring in other talent later in the week, which will include surprise names for the event. WWE sources believe it will be easier to keep surprises a secret since the charter plane and added privacy at the airstrip and hotels will minimize the chances of fans spotting talent during their travels.

The report also states that WWE has several travel options prepared due to the long trips and potential issues caused by winter storms. As a result, some SmackDown talent will be away from home for an extended period, as they recently performed SmackDown in Montreal and traveled to Toronto for RAW before heading to Saudi Arabia.
