IYO SKY is being recognized internally as one of WWE’s standout stars this year. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a top WWE decision-maker praised her in-ring ability, promo skills, and the way she brings intensity to her character—likening her to Asuka in terms of charisma without needing perfect English.
“She has a ridiculously great workrate, and everyone loves working with her,” the source said. “So no one has a problem making her shine, letting her shine, and designing a match for her to shine.”
SKY solidified her momentum with a show-stealing performance at WrestleMania 41, where she pinned Bianca Belair in a triple threat match with Rhea Ripley to retain the Women’s World Championship—a bout that even earned praise from “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.
With WWE since 2018, SKY has held multiple titles, including two Women’s Championships and several tag title reigns. While she’s not on the card for Backlash, she’ll team with Ripley on Raw this Monday to face Roxanne Perez and Giulia.
