Last night's episode of AEW Dynamite featured the debut of TNA Wrestling veteran Jake Something, who has joined the Don Callis Family. This development follows the cancellation of JetSpeed's match alongside Jack Perry against The Demand, as Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight were attacked backstage.
Later on, The Demand and Don Callis appeared, feigning confusion about who had attacked Bailey and Knight, and engaged in a dialogue with Renee Paquette over the definition of the word “bounty.” Callis then hinted that the culprit was someone or "Something" who had just become very wealthy, before Mark Davis and Something made their appearance. Callis referred to Something as Jake Doyle.
According to Fightful Select, AEW sources have indicated that Doyle recently signed with the company after his TNA Wrestling contract expired on January 1st. There were earlier reports suggesting that Doyle’s TNA deal might extend into the summer, but Fightful confirmed in November that it will expire at the end of the year.
As mentioned on AEW TV, Doyle is expected to team regularly with Davis now that Davis' former partner, Kyle Fletcher, has transitioned to a singles competitor. Doyle has spent the majority of his professional wrestling career with TNA Wrestling under the ring name Jake Something, and he made several appearances on AEW Dark in 2022 during a brief hiatus from TNA, still using the Jake Something name.
