Backstage News On Likelihood Of David Benoit Entering Pro Wrestling

David Benoit, the son of the late Chris Benoit, attended an episode of AEW Dynamite in Edmonton, Alberta, on April 8th. He has previously expressed interest in pursuing a career in wrestling and has even undergone some training. However, there hasn't been any significant news about his wrestling aspirations since then, and he has yet to step into the ring.

In the latest edition of Fightful Select's Q&A, a fan inquired about the possibility of Benoit becoming a wrestler. It was noted that he briefly trained at Lance Storm's wrestling school but did not display the same natural talent as his father. Sources indicated that he did not stay at the school for long, and it seems unlikely that professional wrestling will be his career path. Sean Ross Sapp also mentioned that while anything is possible, it appears improbable that Benoit will enter the ring. He has always felt welcome at AEW and WWE events and appears to enjoy attending them.

In 2014, it was reported that Smith Hart attempted to book Benoit for a show before he had any formal training. He was set to team up with Chavo Guerrero Jr., but Guerrero withdrew once he learned about Benoit's lack of experience. Chris Jericho also tried to prevent the match from happening after discovering the situation, which ultimately led to Guerrero's decision to pull out.
