-- Next year's WrestleMania 40 is being held in Philadelphia, PA at Lincoln Financial Field and while that event is still many months away, talk has already begun of the location and venue for WrestleMania 41 to take place in the spring of 2025. In the past, rumors were rampant that Minneapolis, MN was going to be the host city and this information was fightfulselect.com reported that city planners actually leaked that news to the local media before a decision was finalized as WWE sources only would confirm that Minneapolis was one of several cities that were in the running. In the past, it is believed Minnesota cost themselves a shot at hosting WrestleMania by prematurely leaking the info.
-- The report added that while Target Field was first considered a possibility, climate concerns and baseball scheduling made it unlikely so WWE is now looking at U.S. Bank Stadium in the area instead. That stadium plays host to the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL and could seat well over 70,000 for a wrestling event. Furthermore the stadium has a dome and WWE consider it a "world class venue" that is trying to lure non-Vikings games to the location.
-- Meanwhile, PWInsider.com reported this week that Tampa is being considered as the front-runner for the upcoming Royal Rumble but it appears that WWE is not ready to announce anything to event talent who have asked, let alone the general public. That city has been the hot favorite for the Rumble for a while now.
