-- In case it wasn't obvious already, Mercedes Mone is headed to AEW and the promotion has all but confirmed it will be next month when they head to TD Garden in Boston, MA (Mone's hometown) for an episode of Dynamite themed "Big Business."
-- As hinted at in recent reports, Mone has been under contract with AEW since very early 2024 after talks with WWE in late 2023 fell apart and the two sides couldn't come to terms on a contract. At this point, when sources were asked about whether Mone could be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble, many knew she was already signed by AEW and that no further discussions between the two sides were taking place in the present or future. Once she signed with AEW, the February 7 date as the "announcement" and the March 13 date as her debut were circled and locked in.
-- Fightfulselect.com reports that even though Mone is going to be under contract to AEW, NJPW believes that they will have the ability to continue to work with her and plans of that nature have already been discussed. This would seem to suggest another reason Mone may have decided to sign with AEW as that sort of flexibility to work with New Japan would almost surely not be possible if she returned to WWE as Sasha Banks.
