Backstage News On Piper Niven’s WWE Status Amid Neck Injury Concerns

As previously reported, WWE star Piper Niven was sidelined with a neck injury that was rumored to be potentially career-ending. Sean Ross Sapp discussed her situation in the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers, providing an update on her status with the company.

Initially, there was significant concern regarding Niven's in-ring future; however, those close to her believed that the injury would not permanently end her career. This follows a report from PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson last October, indicating that Niven and WWE were working to determine the best course of action for her treatment.

Niven last competed for WWE on the August 22 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, where she faced and defeated Charlotte Flair in a singles match. This victory earned her and Chelsea Green an opportunity to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. Unfortunately, the scheduled title match was canceled at the last minute due to Niven's absence. Green and Alba Fyre later challenged Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss for the titles on the September 19 edition of SmackDown, but the then-reigning champions emerged victorious.

In October, Niven shared photos on her Instagram account, showing her taking a walk with her dog in Savannah, Georgia. This is hopefully a positive sign of her recovery and good spirits.
