Backstage News On Projected Numbers For AEW Worlds End 2025 PPV

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW is poised to finish 2025 on a high note, as their event Worlds End is projected to achieve its best pay-per-view performance since All In. Meltzer noted that estimates suggest Worlds End will either match or slightly exceed the approximately 140,000 buys generated by Full Gear, positioning it among the company's top events of the year from a business perspective.

Following the show, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan described the early streaming performance of Worlds End as "very good," particularly on platforms like HBO Max. Meltzer shared that industry sources tracking combined cable and digital numbers supported this assessment. Two individuals familiar with the overall numbers indicated that Worlds End would perform as well as or slightly better than Full Gear.

Meltzer also mentioned that some early television metrics appeared to be down, although similar declines were observed during last year’s Full Gear. He speculated that holiday reporting delays may have influenced these numbers. Despite this, Google search activity dropped by 41% in the United States and 28% worldwide. However, other indicators suggested a more stable level of fan engagement.

On a more positive note, live attendance for Worlds End reached 8,968 fans, surpassing the 8,660 who attended All Out at the same venue in 2024. Khan confirmed the event was considered "clean as a sellout" hours before it began. While the final setup allowed for just over 9,000 seats, Meltzer noted that the final attendance figure was close enough to reasonably be labeled a sellout.
