Former AEW star Royce Keys, known as Powerhouse Hobbs, made his official WWE debut during this past Saturday's Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Keys entered the Men's Royal Rumble Match at number 11 and lasted approximately 10 minutes, eliminating Damian Priest during his time in the match.
According to Fightful Select, the reaction backstage to Keys' WWE debut was very positive. Many individuals were pleased with his introduction to the company staff and his presence in the backstage area.
The report also noted some confusion among WWE staff regarding the use of the "Powerhouse Hobbs" name on the screen, as it originated in AEW. There has been no clarification on how this issue was addressed. Additionally, it is currently unknown which brand Keys will be assigned to following his debut, but updates will be provided as they become available.
Keys signed with WWE just over a week ago after his AEW contract expired. While AEW reportedly expressed interest in retaining him, Keys declined their offer and is said to have left on good terms.
