Santana was not, in fact, locked up for using a fork in the first-ever Blood & Guts match in All Elite Wrestling history.
During this week's follow-up episode of AEW Dynamite, MJF claimed during The Coronation of The Pinnacle segment that the reason Santana of the Inner Circle's "Proud 'N' Powerful" duo was absent from this week's AEW on TNT television program was because he had him locked up for using a fork as a weapon during the Blood & Guts match last Wednesday night.
Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez noted during the latest installment of their Wrestling Observer Radio program at F4WOnline.com that the real reason Santana missed this week's Dynamite show was due to a minor illness he is recovering from.
According to the editor of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, in the past, Santana might have worked through the illness, but due to extra precautions being taken as a result of the ongoing global pandemic, that is no longer the case, and the Inner Circle member was instead told to stay home.
As of this writing, there is no definitive timetable for Santana's return, although it is believed that he will be back in time for the Stadium Stampede II showdown between The Pinnacle and Inner Circle that was announced for the upcoming AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view on May 30.
