Santos Escobar has signed a new deal with WWE just a few days after leaving the company. Reports indicate that Escobar was primarily seeking a solid creative plan, rather than focusing on money. Nonetheless, he agreed to a contract that is "sizably larger" than the previous offer, and WWE took his concerns regarding a creative direction into consideration.
According to Bodyslam+, WWE did have an initial plan for Escobar that involved AAA, which included him becoming the AAA Mega Champion while Los Garza held the AAA World Tag Team Titles. However, those plans changed, and the championship was ultimately awarded to Dominik Mysterio instead. The reasons for this shift in plans have not been disclosed, but more information is expected to be released in the future.
Escobar, who hails from Mexico City, has also wrestled under the ring name El Hijo Del Fantasma.
