WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has recently made his return to WWE programming after being sidelined for several months due to injury. Despite being 51 years old, Mysterio is still performing strongly in the ring. However, with John Cena retiring last night, AJ Styles announcing his plans to step away from wrestling next year, and speculation regarding Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho potentially following suit soon, fans are wondering if Mysterio might also be considering retirement.
Sean Ross Sapp addressed this topic in the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers in response to a fan question about Mysterio's possible retirement. According to Sapp, discussions about Mysterio’s retirement have primarily come from fans, and he has not received any information from sources close to the company regarding this issue. He also noted that Mysterio has plenty of time left on his current contract, and WWE is very pleased with him both as a wrestler and as an ambassador for the brand.
Mysterio returned to action on the November 17 episode of Monday Night RAW, where he teamed up with Sheamus and Cena to take on The Judgment Day in what marked Cena’s final appearance on the show. Recently, he was brutally attacked by Logan Paul and a masked assailant.
