Backstage News on Stephanie McMahon & Nick Khan Working in WWE as Co-CEOs

– In the aftermath of Vince McMahon’s retirement, WWE announced that Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan would move forward as co-CEOs while Paul Levesque was handed a slew of other responsibilities, most notably handling the company’s talent and creative areas. The idea is that Khan will handle WWE’s business side, Stephanie will be the public face of the company and pair with Levesque to handle the wrestling side.

– Some people who are familiar with the executive structure in large corporations have wondered if the co-CEO strategy will ultimately fail as there will be disagreements between the two and neither will have full power to implement things on their own. However, one person in WWE noted to the Observer Newsletter that they feel the pairing is necessary, stating that while “Nick is a revenue driver” and if he sticks to revenue and Stephanie sticks to “being a promoter” with her knowledge of media and analytics and branding, the two will form a “formidable team.”
