As previously reported, Pat McAfee was revealed as the mystery person communicating with Randy Orton during his WrestleMania 42 feud with Cody Rhodes. This culminated in McAfee's appearance on WWE SmackDown, where he delivered a low blow to Rhodes and cut a promo expressing that WWE had neglected Attitude Era fans, causing business to decline, and positioning Orton as the one to “save” the industry.
Ari Emanuel, the CEO of TKO, was instrumental in bringing McAfee into the storyline. Reports suggest that this decision was made as early as Elimination Chamber. Recently, a fan inquired about TKO's sudden influence on WWE creative during the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A session, and Sean Ross Sapp provided some clarifications.
According to Sapp, TKO is not "running roughshod" over WWE creative, as Triple H still oversees week-to-week creative direction. He also clarified that TKO's influence isn't a recent development; Emanuel played a key role in involving The Rock in last year's WrestleMania build. Emanuel is not heavily involved in most storylines and has only made "one or two" executive decisions, while ultimately, Triple H continues to control the company's storylines.
