This change in style is intended to reflect his more heelish persona and is not related to the ankle injury that has sidelined him for some time.
Regarding PAC's decision to stop using his signature Black Arrow finisher, Sapp mentioned that this is likely for similar reasons. The impressive move tends to elicit cheers from the audience, which PAC is currently not aiming for, and it is also a high-risk maneuver that he may not be able to perform over the course of his career.
