– In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was reported that WWE has all but internally confirmed that the two WrestleMania main events will be Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley on April 1 for Night One and Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes for Night Two on April 2. There was some debate on what match will headline the first night with Seth Rollins vs. Logan Paul and The Usos vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn also getting consideration but the report adds that the reasons for having Flair/Ripley main event were purely political.
– Meanwhile, a fightfulselect.com report implies that the Flair vs. Ripley main event is not yet confirmed as several people who would normally be “in the know” including the talent have not yet been informed that this match will headline the first night. This report adds that the Usos vs. Owens & Zayn was scheduled as the main event at one point and multiple people in the company have continued to push for it. The political reason that the Observer alluded to was simply that last year’s show didn’t have a women’s main event on either night.
