As previously reported, Alexandra Williams announced on social media that she has been promoted to vice president and lead writer for WWE RAW. Dave Meltzer later noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this promotion actually took place in January. Williams is now responsible for overseeing the creative direction of RAW alongside Ryan Ward and Jonathan Baeckstrom, while also holding the title of vice president. This trio reports to Ed Koskey, who then reports to Bruce Prichard, who in turn reports to Paul "Triple H" Levesque.
The public announcement of Williams' promotion led some to attribute the impressive segment between World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and The Usos on this past Monday's RAW to changes within the writing team. However, Meltzer clarified in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the creative team has remained the same since January, with Paul Levesque largely credited for the idea of The Usos confronting Punk about his involvement of Roman Reigns's father in their rivalry.
Following a heated exchange of words, The Usos attacked Punk for disrespecting their family to close out the show. According to Meltzer, this storyline development was intended to bridge the gap during Reigns' absence and generate interest for his return this coming Monday.
