Backstage News on Why NXT and 205 Live Were Moved to WWE Performance Center

-- WWE is moving all NXT shows to the Performance Center, beginning with tonight's TakeOver 31 event which had long been in the works. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there was consideration being given to moving NXT shows to the ThunderDome as well but the fact that it didn't mean there was some sort of 'snag' that came up. One observation is that 205 Live is being paired with NXT to be taped at the Performance Center as opposed to at the ThunderDome following Smackdown on Fridays as it had been in the past. The reason for this is said to be precautionary reasons as WWE wants to keep NXT and 205 Live separate and away from either Raw or Smackdown brand wrestlers to minimize any potential COVID-19 outbreak.

-- Moving from Full Sail University to the Performance Center was also said to be related to the pandemic as the university is back to having students in class and WWE didn't want any of their staff having a greater than necessary chance of being exposed to the virus. WWE was still running a closed set for NXT and this didn't serve any benefit for Full Sail either as part of the relationship in the past was for students to "shadow" the NXT crew.
