— The Wrestling Observer Newsletter seems to hint that Shayna Baszler winning Sunday’s Elimination Chamber is not a lock as there was some “negativity” surrounding her match this past Monday on Raw - specifically that Vince McMahon’s expectation that the match against Kairi Sane did not get the desired level of reaction from the audience. Given that, there appears to be “uncertainty” that McMahon views Baszler as a WrestleMania headliner and it’s worth noting that he’s already changed his mind once already on a big win for her (the Royal Rumble match was earmarked for a Baszler win before McMahon yanked the finish and went with Charlotte Flair instead).
— The factor working in Baszler’s favor is that there really isn’t anyone else in the match who is a strong candidate to win. Asuka would be the only other possibility but she’s battling a wrist injury and just got her shot at Becky Lynch’s title and lost. The other Elimination Chamber contestants simply haven’t been pushed and neither have they worked a strong angle with Lynch.
