Backstage News On WrestleMania 42 Ticket Sales Following Pat McAfee’s Night One Discount Announcement

As has been the case for the past few weeks, attention is focused on the ticket sales for both nights of WWE WrestleMania 42 due to the low number of tickets sold. The situation has intensified following the controversial inclusion of Pat McAfee in the main event feud of Night One, which features reigning Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes against Randy Orton.

Ahead of last Friday night’s episode of SmackDown, McAfee teased a “massive surprise” for fans. This surprise turned out to be a 25% discount on Night One tickets, available until last night’s episode of RAW.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the discount resulted in the sale of 1,265 tickets, bringing the total sold for WrestleMania Saturday to 40,610. However, Night Two, which features World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and Roman Reigns in the main event, still outperformed Night One, even without a similar discount.

Meltzer also noted that Night Two saw 1,452 tickets sold during the same period, increasing its total to 42,769. This comes after McAfee advised fans not to buy tickets for WrestleMania 42 on Sunday. The disappointing ticket sales for this year's WrestleMania have sparked major discussions, with WWE’s parent company, TKO, facing heavy criticism over high ticket prices. As of April 10, ticket sales are down 19% compared to last year’s WrestleMania at the same venue.
