Backstage News on WWE Bringing a Major Premium Live Event to the United Kingdom

-- John Cena's return to WWE this past weekend at Money in the Bank caught almost everyone by surprise as the company had kept his appearance a tightly guarded secret that only a few people knew about. Cena appeared and threw out the notion that WWE bring WrestleMania to London, though after the event, Triple H didn't offer much reinforcement for that idea, suggesting that while the company would love to hold WrestleMania, it is difficult to pull off.

-- Fightfulselect.com reports that WWE's hesitancy in bringing WrestleMania to London is partly due to the fact that the show is already set for Philadelphia in 2024 and WWE is in the final stages of confirming the 2025 location, which is expected to be a city in the United States. That would mean the earliest WWE could even consider bringing WrestleMania to London is in 2026 and company sources don't feel like such a move is "on the horizon."

-- However, at the same time WWE did send out a survey where they asked which UK city would be an ideal location for a hypothetical Royal Rumble or SummerSlam with the choices listed including London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. It's important to note this was a hypothetical question and WrestleMania was not mentioned in any way but it would seem to indicate that WWE is looking to bringing a major event to the UK at some point in the near future.
