-- WWE made a somewhat surprising release earlier this week, letting Cameron Grimes go after five years with the company. It was previously reported that WWE officials based their decision on the latest releases by assessing their length with the company and comparing it to the trajectory those talent had made in that time as well as their potential in the future. For this reason, Grimes' release caught some people within WWE off guard, according to fightfulselect.com.
-- The report adds that Grimes' skill set and track record "did not match" with others that were recently cut, pointing out that he had gotten over on NXT, was constantly improving in the ring and was a regular at Smackdown since being called up to the brand - even when he wasn't used creatively.
-- Grimes is probably not going to be out of work for long as the report also added that it is expected that he will be heavily booked on the independent circuit and that several top indie promotions have already noted that they plan on making contact in order to get him on their shows.
