Backstage News On WWE Superstar AJ Styles Possibly Appearing At TNA Slammiversary This Weekend

TNA President Carlos Silva revealed that this weekend's Slammiversary PPV is selling tickets so well that they have opened up more seats, promising that the event will be "PHENOMENAL."

Of course his usage of the word in all capitals naturally got rumors swirling that perhaps WWE star AJ Styles would finally be returning to TNA, in a massive homecoming as he is technically recognized as the promotion's first homegrown star. Current TNA Champion, NXT's Trick Williams, also brought up Styles' name in a recent interview when asked who from the main roster he would like to face for the title.

According to a new report by pwinsiderelite.com, there has "absolutely" been discussions by TNA officials with WWE to bring in Styles for an appearance this weekend. While sources would not confirm Styles' presence, it was noted that Silva used "phenomenal" for a reason, timing it to help sell more tickets for Slammiversary.

Styles has not appeared in TNA since May of 2013 so his likely return this weekend will be after a period of over a decade.
