Backstage News On WWE's Original Plans For Brock Lesnar At Elimination Chamber & WrestleMania 40

-- By now, most people know that Brock Lesnar was originally scheduled for Saturday's WWE men's Royal Rumble, but his appearance was pulled at the last minute after he was identified as the mystery wrestler in Janel Grant's lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE. It was further reported that after WWE made the decision to remove Lesnar from the show, his spot was essentially filled by Bron Breakker. Over the weekend, even more was revealed on WWE's plans for Lesnar over the next couple of months.

-- Post Wrestling first reported that according to sources within WWE, Lesnar was expected to start a program with Dominik Mysterio at Royal Rumble, which would have led to a match between the two next month at Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, it was noted that from there, Lesnar was anticipated to move onto a match against Gunther at WrestleMania 40.

-- While not confirmed, it is believed that the plans for Lesnar are scrapped indefinitely and he won't be competing at WrestleMania unless there is a significant development causing them to bring him back. It's also unclear whether the plans that were earmarked for Lesnar are going to go to Bron Breakker as they did in the Rumble.
