According to Fightful Select, both ESPN and WWE are eager to make this Saturday's WrestlePalooza Premium Live Event (PLE) a significant show for several reasons. This event will mark WWE's debut on ESPN, and WWE is also competing with AEW's All Out, which will start earlier in the day.
The report further indicates that WWE is planning to elevate WrestlePalooza as a key PLE and enhance its branding. This move comes amid discussions within WWE about possibly hosting two WrestleMania events each year, particularly in light of their business relationship with Saudi Arabia. One of these events was proposed to be a special edition called "Super WrestleMania."
However, the Saudi Arabian government expressed a preference for the WrestleMania PLE itself rather than a second WrestleMania event. This preference is expected to persist in the coming years. WrestlePalooza may serve as a valuable addition to the calendar in instances where WrestleMania is held outside of North America. One WWE source suggested that the inspiration for using the WrestlePalooza name likely came from WWE President Nick Khan, who was a fan of ECW in his youth.
