As previously reported, former WWE star and UFC legend Ronda Rousey surprised the wrestling world last Sunday night when she appeared at AEW Revolution 2026. The event took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, where former Women’s World Champion "Timeless" Toni Storm faced off against The Death Riders' Marina Shafir. Storm ultimately defeated Shafir, and as she celebrated on the entrance ramp, Ronda Rousey emerged in the ring.
Storm then made her way back to confront Rousey, but officials and security quickly intervened to separate the two. Rousey exited the arena alongside Shafir to a chorus of boos from the audience.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, many people within WWE were caught off guard by Rousey's appearance. While a few individuals were aware of her planned appearance at Revolution, the majority were surprised to see her in All Elite Wrestling. It is still unclear whether Rousey will make regular appearances on AEW television moving forward, but updates will be provided as they become available.
After leaving WWE, Rousey participated in a few matches on the independent circuit, teaming with Shafir in each instance. This included appearances and a tag team match in ROH, which is also owned by Tony Khan. Later that same year in 2023, Rousey announced her retirement from professional wrestling.
