According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE scouts were impressed by Persephone's breakout performance at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door last summer and have been monitoring her progress since then.
Meltzer also noted that WWE was "very interested" in Persephone after her participation in the 4-Way TBS Championship Match at London's O2 Arena, even as her momentum in CMLL continued to grow.
Despite WWE's interest, Persephone chose a different path. Earlier this week, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan confirmed her dual agreement with AEW and CMLL. This deal allows her to work for both promotions, similar to the arrangements held by Hechicero and Máscara Dorada.
Persephone has made several appearances in AEW and ROH, including a title challenge against Athena. She is currently recovering from a concussion sustained during ROH Final Battle but is expected to return soon.
