WWE WrestleMania 42 is quickly approaching and it's been no secret that the company's plans for the two-night event have been flux mainly due to injuries to some key players, Seth Rollins arguably being the biggest one.
On the latest WrestleVotes Q&A, Rollins' recovery and availability for WrestleMania was discussed as well as how his injury and return will have significant ramifications on matches for other wrestlers.
According to their report, WWE is currently "waiting" on Bron Breakker to see if he will be recovered in time to be Rollins' opponent at WrestleMania. If that happens, it would be Rollins vs. Breakker and Brock Lesnar facing LA Knight as well as the Vision vs. The Usos.
However, if Breakker is unable to get cleared in time for WrestleMania, WWE's backup plan is likely to have Lesnar face Rollins in a storyline where Lesnar would be "avenging" Paul Heyman, who coincidentally was announced as out indefinitely last night on Raw after being assaulted by Rollins the week before.
The report added that WWE's plans of an "open challenge" for Lesnar at WrestleMania is there because of this uncertainty and the challenge will remain open until Breakker's status is decided. Leaving it an unknown means WWE could conceivably go with Rollins or Knight as Lesnar's opponent. If Breakker is unable to make it back for WrestleMania, it would mean "trouble" for Knight who then wouldn't technically have a top match on the card.
