-- During last night's AEW Dynamite in Calgary, former world champion Samoa Joe was seemingly written off of TV with an injury angle when he was driven through a wall by Chris Jericho during their Canadian Stampede Street Fight and then later taken away by ambulance.
-- PWInsider.com reported that the likely reason Joe was written out in this manner is because he will be returning for the second season of Peacock's series "Twisted Metal" which begins filming later in July in Toronto. The series is scheduled to film through October but not continuously so there would be breaks in between some episodes potentially giving Joe the opportunity to make appearances or further storylines in play. Joe will be reprising his role as "Sweet Tooth" in the series.
-- On a somewhat related note, multiple WWE stars auditioned for a new character on the series named Axel, however, the show is moving forward with production without any of the WWE talents being cast in the role. Omos, Cedric Alexander and Apollo Crews reportedly tried out for the role.
