As previously reported, Alex Hammerstone suffered a knee injury during the first tapings of MLW Fusion’s return at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia. Hammerstone was competing against Matt Riddle in the main event of the second episode when the match ended prematurely due to his injury.
According to PWInsider.com, sources believe that Hammerstone will be out of action for an extended period. The specifics of the injury are not yet clear; it seems to have occurred when Hammerstone hit a pump kick, causing Riddle's fist to collide with the ring post.
Despite his injury, Hammerstone reportedly wanted to continue the match, but MLW made the decision to end it early. It has been noted that Hammerstone was able to walk backstage after the match, but he was in considerable pain.
This is not Hammerstone's first knee injury; he had previously undergone surgery in December 2024 while with TNA Wrestling and was out of action until February of last year. He made his return to MLW during the Battle Riot event that April.
