Backstage Update On Andrade’s Current Situation And WWE Non-Compete Status

As previously reported, former WWE star Andrade has found himself in a challenging situation following his release from the company in September. WWE enforced a 12-month no-compete clause after releasing him with cause due to his appearance on an episode of AEW Dynamite.

According to Fightful Select, Andrade is now free to sign anywhere he wishes, including AEW, as his WWE situation officially concluded around December 12th. The report also states that Andrade was introduced to an attorney by RUSH, who has worked with WWE for years, and they successfully had the 12-month non-compete clause waived. It was noted that the situation was handled very professionally at that point. Since Andrade was not paid after his release, an agreement was reached allowing him to sign elsewhere.

Additionally, it was reported that Andrade's visa was effectively canceled upon his release from WWE; however, he is currently in the U.S. and is managing that issue. AEW and Tony Khan have expressed positive sentiments about Andrade and believed he would eventually return. They aimed to ensure that the non-compete situation was resolved smoothly.

In the past week, Andrade has made appearances at House of Glory and NJPW and is scheduled to compete at Wrestle Kingdom 20.
