As previously reported, ROH World Champion and AEW World Tag Team Champion Bandido successfully defended his ROH World Title against Hechicero at CMLL’s recent Viernes Espectacular pay-per-view event in Mexico City. However, the double champion did not come out of the match unscathed.
After the event, Bandido shared a photo on his Instagram Stories revealing that he suffered a dislocated shoulder during the championship match and was seen wearing a medical arm sling.
AEW President and CEO Tony Khan previously stated that Bandido wants to “power through” his injury to wrestle on Dynamite later tonight, where he is scheduled to team up with Brody King to take on Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita in tag team action.
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Bandido’s status for the show remains uncertain, and it is unclear if he will be able to wrestle later tonight. Meltzer also mentioned that people backstage in AEW are quite skeptical about Bandido’s ability to compete, as the doctor nearly stopped his match with Hechicero. Meltzer revealed that Bandido left the ring in a sling and had to pop his shoulder back in place. If he is genuinely injured, he will not be wrestling tonight; however, if he does compete, it could be part of a storyline.
