Backstage Update On Dominik Mysterio And Original WWE RAW Plans For Him

As previously reported, AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day did not work last Monday night’s episode of WWE RAW. During the show, it was revealed that he was not cleared to compete following his recent title defense against El Hijo del Vikingo at AAA Rey de Reyes over the weekend, where he defeated Vikingo in a No Disqualification Match.

According to F4WOnline.com's Bryan Alvarez, the original plan for Mysterio on last Monday's RAW was for him to compete in a match against Dragon Lee. However, he is now in concussion protocol due to an injury sustained from a chair shot during the AAA match.

Dave Meltzer, in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, added that Mysterio was injured and cut when Vikingo threw a chair at his face. The severity of Mysterio's concussion and the duration of his recovery are currently unknown, but updates will be provided as they become available.

Mysterio and The Judgment Day were advertised to appear on last Monday night’s RAW, presumably to explain their recent actions in attacking and betraying Finn Bálor. However, plans changed due to Dominik’s injury. Instead of Mysterio, fans heard from Liv Morgan, who revealed that this was her plan all along since joining the faction. Additionally, since Dominik could not wrestle Dragon Lee, WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta faced Lee instead and successfully retained his title.
