As previously reported, Swerve Strickland faced Kenny Omega in a singles match during the main event of last Wednesday night's episode of AEW Dynamite. Strickland emerged victorious but attacked Omega after the match by hanging him over the ropes with a chain. He then executed a Vertebreaker through the announce desk and declared to the camera that he needed this moment as the show concluded.
According to a prior report from Fightful Select, the match was scheduled for Dynamite due to Omega's upcoming scheduling conflicts, which he had communicated to AEW several months in advance. Consequently, the match was included in last Wednesday night’s show. Sources indicate that Omega could appear at Revolution; however, as of now, he is not scheduled to compete at the pay-per-view event.
Dave Meltzer noted in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Omega is booked for events related to Capcom Cup 12 at Sumo Hall in Tokyo from Wednesday, March 11, through Sunday, March 15. Meltzer also mentioned that Omega is involved with Street Fighter 6, including appearances and fan meet-and-greet sessions scheduled through March 13.
Meltzer added that the current plan being discussed would have Omega leave Japan on March 14 and travel to Los Angeles in time for the AEW pay-per-view at Crypto.com Arena. However, no final confirmation has been made as of this writing. Omega is reportedly cautious about publicly committing to the event until travel and other logistics are fully secured.
AEW Revolution 2026 is set to take place on Sunday, March 15, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. The event will air live on pay-per-view.
