Backstage Update On Lexis King’s WWE NXT Status After Not Being Cleared To Compete

As previously reported, WWE NXT star Lexis King was announced as not being medically cleared to compete during this week’s episode of NXT. This announcement followed a hard knee to the face that King sustained during an 8-man tag team match at last Saturday’s NXT live event in Lakeland, Florida. Although King felt okay after the match, WWE ultimately decided not to clear him for the episode.

According to Fightful Select, sources within the company have indicated that King was already feeling better the day after the NXT episode. However, the report does not confirm whether he has been cleared to compete or when he might receive the green light. Currently, there is no update on his return to the ring, but more information will be provided as it becomes available.

King is a member of Birthright, a stable comprised of second-generation wrestlers and those affiliated with them in NXT. Two members of Birthright will compete in the finals of the NXT Tag Team Championship #1 Contender's tournament during next week's episode of WWE NXT, which takes place at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Uriah Connors and Stacks are the participants from Birthright in the tournament. However, WWE has not yet confirmed them as the competitors in the finals against Los Americanos.
