Backstage Update On The Sheamus vs. Humberto Carrillo Match Finish

As previously reported, a WWE United States Title Match took place during last Monday night's WWE RAW episode between the WWE United States Champion Sheamus and Humberto Carrillo, where the ending of the match was rather abrupt following a bad bump at ringside.

Carrillo hit Sheamus with a Sunset Flip Powerbomb from the apron of the ring to the floor and Sheamus landed rather awkwardly in a hard and brutal kind of way on Carrillo’s knee. Carrillo signaled for a referee and a referee then made his way down to check on Carrillo, which would then lead to the match being cut short by the referee and it was decided that the match was a no contest, but the WWE United States Champion still ended up having his arms raised and winning the match via referee stoppage.

PWInsider has reported that according to several sources on RAW Humberto was “OK” after the bad fall, but no word was provided yet on if Carrillo was checked for any injury or if he will miss any in-ring time.

In an update, PWInsider noted that the original finish of the match had Sheamus winning by pinfall or submission and that Carrillo will only miss in-ring time if the company decides to sell his injury as he is reportedly already medically cleared to compete anytime he is needed.
