According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan will not discuss Toni Storm's current status, as well as previous reports regarding his bid to buy WWE. The report also mentioned that Storm's recent absence from television is due to a storyline angle that is expected to keep her off screen until 2027.
Meltzer clarified that Storm is not dealing with an injury, and the specifics of her situation are being kept confidential following an incident that occurred during the March 18th AEW Dynamite. Initially, the plans for that day included Storm defeating Marina Shafir, which would then set up a program between Thekla and Storm. However, once it became evident that Storm could not wrestle, the decision was made to proceed with an injury angle, aiming for a "Who Shot JR?" style mystery storyline.
Recently, Storm was seen at a public autograph signing without any visible injury and did not appear to be selling the injury storyline.
