Pro wrestling veteran Trey Miguel recently announced on his Instagram Stories that he is taking a break from wrestling but urged fans to continue supporting The Rascalz during his absence. This announcement follows The Rascalz—comprising Miguel, Myron Reed, Zachary Wentz, and Dezmond Xavier—leaving TNA Wrestling and making their move to AEW last week.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Miguel was released from his AEW contract within the last few days. The reason for his release remains unknown, but the report states that AEW maintains amicable relations with the pro wrestling veteran.
The report also mentions that Miguel’s previous contract with TNA expired at the end of last year, after which he signed with AEW alongside Xavier, Wentz, and Reed. However, he was released just over a week later, which is why he was absent from last Saturday night’s Collision broadcast, taped on January 14. At that time, it was emphasized to Fightful that although Miguel wasn’t present backstage at last Wednesday's episode of Maximum Carnage on Dynamite, all four members of the group had signed with AEW.
Miguel had been with TNA since 2018 and did not join Wentz and Xavier when they went to WWE NXT, although he participated in multiple matches in NXT as part of the TNA crossover in 2024 and 2025. Throughout his time in TNA (formerly known as iMPACT Wrestling), Miguel became a two-time X-Division Champion and a one-time Tag Team Champion with Wentz.
