Backstage Update On Where WWE’s Video Content Library Could End Up After The Peacock Deal Expires

As previously reported, some content from WWE's video library is showing expiration dates of December 31st, and the deal between WWE and Peacock for NXT Premium Live Events (PLEs) is set to expire in March 2026. However, sources expect WWE to continue releasing the content gradually on YouTube.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are current discussions within WWE to slowly upload the older non-WWE videos to YouTube. Meanwhile, certain content—namely the SmackDown and Saturday Night’s Main Event archives—is likely to remain on Peacock. The report noted that both SmackDown and SNME are part of WWE's deal with NBCUniversal, which continues well beyond March.

Additionally, the report mentions that Netflix has uploaded some older episodes of RAW, although this collection is still incomplete. Once the Peacock deal expires, there may be opportunities to make these older episodes available domestically.

WWE has not made any public statements regarding their plans for the old library. However, Mark Shapiro said this regarding the status of these deals:

“We haven’t gone to market yet on the NXT PLEs, we have a lot on our plate right now and we want to be smart and strategic about that. We’re in no rush. We need to be deliberate and thoughtful. As it relates to the library, we’re working on a non-exclusive deal at the moment. I think we’ll have something to announce in Q1 [2026].”
